| Fake sovereign dated 1920, and purportedly from the London branch of the Royal Mint. We recently received this counterfeit in a batch we bought from a highly respectable German bank, which just demonstrates that anybody can make a mistake. The easiest clue to its lack of authenticity is that the London Mint stopped issuing sovereigns after 1917, with a few exceptions.
