Description:
Louis XVI, France.
A beautiful example of badly botched dies. On the obverse the V of NAV is missing and on the reverse there is an R instead of E in FELICITAS. I'm not certain of the meaning of the imagery though Hennin said: 'The legend of the reverse of this piece, felicitas publica, is taken from ancient Roman medals, on which it is frequently met'.
