The obverse of the coin features a stylised Vytis in the centre, depicted against a background of interfering coherent light waves, surrounded by the inscription LIETUVA (LITHUANIA), year of issue (2016), denomination (€5), and the mintmark of the Lithuanian Mint. The reverse of the coin features a stylised reflection of a laser light impulse and two inscriptions – LIETUVOS MOKSLAS (LITHUANIAN SCIENCE) and FIZIKA (PHYSICS). Designed by Jolanta Mikulskytė and Giedrius Paulauskis. Mintage 5,000 pcs. Issued 29-03-2016. The coin was minted at the state enterprise Lithuanian Mint. |
