| Ubiquitous 1915 restrike gold 1 ducat. This is struck on a large thin flan (planchet), as were the original mediaeval ducats. It makes a nice jewellery coin as it is quite light but showy. Even more spectacular is its cousin the 4 ducat. Our photo of the 1 ducat is better than that of our 4 ducat, which is why we have showcased the 1 ducat rather than the 4 ducat. |
