| 1808 Capped Bust $5. Wide 5D, Breen-6457, B. 4-B, Miller-107, R.4. Despite light friction on the highpoints, this half eagle exhibits considerable bright mint luster, and the only relevant mark is a minor rim ding past 12:00 on the reverse. A small planchet flaw on the chin is of mint origin, as are light reverse roller marks, which are mostly limited to the dentils. Also as made, clash marks from the shield are seen near Liberty's ear. |
