Re-engraved dies!
The best photo's we have managed to take of the new 2007 sovereigns which arrived in stock today. The relief and definition is disappointing to say the least, we have seen better fakes!
The colour difference is simply due to different photographic techniques.
On detailed inspection of the new coins, the reverse dies appear to have been reengraved, originally we simply thought it was a difference in production quality.
