Ch'ing Dynasty Central Mint in Tientsin, milled coinage silver 'Kuang-hsu Yuan Bao', Emperor Kuang-hsu. This silver dollar with identification marks punched into the coin by Chinese merchants to indicate that the metal of the coin has been tested and is of a known quality. There are chopmarks of 'Golden coin' or Pecuniary (3 o'clock), 2 x 'Tien' (or Sky, 4 o'clock), chicken foot (10 o'clock), small edge cut (10 o'clock) on reverse. A crescent mark on obverse 10 o'clock. Cleaned. Good very fine.
