Tai Ping Rebellion (1850-64 AD, during Ch'ing Dynasty, Emperor Hsien Feng), Hung Hsiu-chuan as Tien Wang (Celestial King), 'Tai Ping Tien Guo (Celestial Kingdom of Peace)', Rev. 'Sheng-pao'.  4.1g, Brass, 23.24mm. The Taiping forces swept northward in the spring of 1852 and by March of 1853 had taken Nanking, which became the 'Celestial Capital'. Hung had committed suicide on June 1864. This is common cast, but scarce in this top extra fine condition.
