| Cheapo 9ct gold replica of the beautiful 1839 Una and the Lion gold five pound coin (quintuple sovereign), by William Wyon. Not only is this modern replica made in low carat gold, but the relief and detail are both somewhat lacking. We believe there is a place in numismatics for replicas and fantasy pieces, but at least make them to high standards, and preferably use the real materials. This is the largest in a set of 4 otherwise identical pieces. |
