Description:
Constantius II was the second son of Constantine the Great, and inherited the eastern part of the empire in 337. His long reign was spent fighting on many frontiers. With Constans, he introduced a new 'second brass' denomination called a centenionalis, as shown. This denomination was discontinued only six years later. The reverse shows a soldier spearing a fallen horseman.
